“Being a CASA has humbled me. These children are suffering, yet they show great strength and resilience. They are often optimistic about their lives no matter how unpleasant they may be. They look on the bright side and they do not want to be a bother to anyone. They are appreciative of what’s done for them and they are courteous and respectful. I’ve learned from the children how to handle adversity with a positive attitude, a focus on the future and a sense of humor.”

Other Ways to Support CASA

Host a Beneficiary Event

CASA relies on supportive community partners to help raise awareness and vital funds for the organization. Many local individuals and businesses support CASA by hosting beneficiary events.

You can also help by donating a variety of items that our volunteers and staff may use as they help a child in protective care:

  • Postage stamps for CASA of Collin County mailings
  • Gasoline gift cards, airline tickets, or frequent flier miles to visit kids placed in facilities across Texas
  • Gift certificates to restaurants, movies, or sporting events to use during visits with children
  • Gift certificates to cover necessities or gifts for children

For more information, please call (972) 665-6504 or email, Development Coordinator, Brooke Burns.

Host a Toy or Gift Card Drive

You can host a gift card drive any time of the year to support CASA children. We suggest gift cards from the following stores that can help provide needed supplies or celebrate special occasions for kids: (Please write the amounts on any gift cards you donate.)

  • Wal-Mart
  • Target
  • Best Buy/Gaming Stores
  • Beauty Supply Stores (Ulta, Sally Beauty, etc.)
  • Movie Theaters
  • McDonald’s and other child-friendly chain restaurants
  • Kohls

Please feel free to support the CASA of Collin County Toy Drive. All items can be shipped directly to CASA of Collin County. Click here for more information.

Help with Special Events

CASA events are run by volunteer committees who work closely with our Director of Development. Volunteering on an event committee is a great way to support and get to know CASA of Collin County, especially if you don’t think volunteering as an advocate is right for you at this time. Find out more about joining one of our event committees by contacting Director of Development, Teressa Jimenez at 972-529-2272 ext. 103 or via email.
